We need this as well because tags list becomes messy with many orphaned after some times.
For now, th eonly way is to delete them from the database.

When removing a tag from a page and the tag is not used by any other page, the tag still shows as an option in the search.

We will need to explore if it makes more sense to do this as soon as the tag is orphaned, or as part of a scheduled process.
