Double Square Brackets for Links

Im proposing a change to Double Square Brackets for links.
This is particularly important for wikis that quote individuals or abridged texts, where standard English formatting requires single square brackets for _modified_ text.
Via Wikipedia:
_The Plaintiff asserted his cause is just, stating,_
> [m]y causes is [sic] just.

My mistake. This does work as is, the editor just highlights believing it's a link, but it shows properly upon rendering.

Worth noting that using a bracketed ellipsis, [...], to represent a terminated quote is also extremely common.
