Just dropping a comment to also say that I wish that this feature existed, since it is a feature that is important for how my wiki works, and I believe that I am not alone in my use-case. In my setup, it is important that every page is in markdown (for external services, viewers, exporters and whatnot).

We definitely need this, I want all my contributors to use the visual editor!

This would be awesome, how far down the backlog is this feature? :P

We're using the latest stable (2.5.170) and this feature isn't available. Our wiki stores its data in a git repository, so I think it makes a lot of sense to limit the editor to MarkDown only - we don't want a mix of document types. We could really use this feature, thanks.

Hope they're still planning this. I don't want a page to be stuck as WSIYWYG because someone created it that way.

Jim Bridger: from v2.5.300 you can convert an existing page from one editor to another, unfortunately you may lose some formatting during this process

Nicolas Giard: Additionally, there should be a tool Administration -> Tools -> Content -> Migrate all pages to another editor.
Currently you have to do it manually for each page, after you change files in repo from html to markdown. Because the wiki doesn't store editor/content type information in the repo, even though it's in the file header.
That would be changing the editor/content type, without converting - that's important!
