An inputbox for an optional summary of the current edit (like mediawiki). This would then be used as the commit message, in place of "Updated foo.md".

Our private GitLab server has rules for commit messages. Now they are in conflict with wiki.js.

Is it possible to use the custom message "My rule <message>" instead of the standard message "docs: <message>"?

When you go to the history view on the page, it is not at all obvious which data has been changed. Will viewing the history of page changes be improved?

I'd like to be able to add text to the git commit message when I save a page edit.

For instance - gitlab examines the commit message and if I mention a specific issue, it gets linked into the rest of the project.

Another idea. A checkbox to note that the current change is a minor edit (like spelling fixes) which could simply add the prefix minor to the commit message:
Minor: Updated foo.md
Minor: Fixed spelling and line break
