Create new page initialized from selected template

Mark a page as template. And when we visit that page, then allow creation of page from that template, plus some added rules like name format, pre-selected folder etc.
For e.g. we create a page for an entity (like, say, CourseInfo), with prepopulated markdown or table etc. Further, such pages can be stored under /Courses folder.

It seems like this functionality is already there. I could use /e/NewPage?from=<page_no> URL and initialize new page with this content of existing page. May be it is already in docs? I am not sure.
However, it will be hard to know the page number easily. Perhaps some short cut can be provided.
Also this functionality is bit different from other requested 'transclusion' feature. There a part of page can be dynamically fetched from existing page.
