Navigationmenu should not move to top after select menu item

When the Navigation Menu in Frontend is large and the user scroll to a specific menu item and click at this, the Navigation move back to top instead stay at same position. So the user need always do scroll down again in navigation menu.
Expected behavior
The menu should not move to top. That is very circumstantial and a fast and simple navigation is not possible.

I want to focus a tree based navigation on the current folder.
Currently:
1) I use the left navigation pane to select some page
2) the selected page is open
3) the navigation pane is reset to default state
I want to keep the menu open because I need to see the child pages immediatelly.
Requested:
1) I use the left navigation pane to select some page
2) the selected page is open
3) the navigation pane keeps the focus on the current folder
